Hello! Thanks for checking out my portfolio. I’m a UX Designer and Researcher and recovering academic, coming from a background of teaching college writing, graphic narrative, and gender studies courses at the university level. I got my PhD in English from Tufts University in August 2020, and I’m looking for my next creative and intellectual adventure!
My approach to UX research and design is informed by my past experience with writing coaching and consulting, where I practiced active listening and asked lots of questions to encourage my clients to explore multiple approaches to their big picture writing concerns. I’m process-driven and really invested in talking through (and ideating) multiple possible solutions. While writing my dissertation, I became addicted to that epiphanic feeling when the chaos of possible pathways falls into place and becomes an organized argument. The other part of my life that animates my design thinking is cartooning, which I’ve practiced for the past 10+ years. I’m obsessed with efficient visual storytelling that has emotional depth.
